Marriage & Medical School

A little over one month ago, I was newly wedded to my most favorite karfunkle. We said our vows on the wide lawn before the beautiful Delphi Lodge in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland with a wonderfully sized group of friends and family. It was perfectly perfect. A total of 21 guests joined us and we managed to spend the two evenings and two days eating, drinking (all but me), swimming in the nearby lake, dancing late into the night, and deeply enjoying our little happy world away from reality. Each dinner provided ample time for us to sit around for hours and share old and new memories as well as dine on the most amazing lobster (on the first night) and the most amazing lamb chop on the Wedding Day. A small talent show ensued following dinner on the evening of our wedding, performers included my father, my very talented friend/singer, and the karfunkle's friends even threw out a few songs. The warmth - physical and emotional - was palpable and everyone contributed to establishing an environment of love and support. We had a wonderful, wonderful time. Could not have been better.

Following our Honeymoon, I moved out to the Palm Springs of Washington to start Medical School. I am two weeks into the program and have been beyond inundated in classwork. Between Biochemistry, Physiology, Clinical Skills, Community Doctoring, Anatomy & Lab, Histology & Lab, Mircobiology, OPP... office hours and recitation.... it's been an intense two weeks. Luckily I have made two very reliable friends that will help carry me (and them) through this journey and I have Riker to keep me company. I will continue to post as much as I can remember... this is a brain fart post, now I need to get back to cytology!
