First time through Chicago

For the past few days I have been driving along I-94 and I-90 with Robert to our new destinations on the East Coast. In two days we traveled across Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and into Illinois.

I would recommend against ever stopping in Glendive, Montana. Not a pleasant place to stop and is reminiscent of where young children are stolen.

I drove my first 400+ miles ever from Billings to Bismarck. We endured a few quick and heavy showers while driving through North Dakota. Robert then drove us from Bismarck to Fargo then to a safe rest stop in Minnesota. We slept a solid 4 hours then drove to Alexandria for a quick breakfast at the Coffee Shop Cafe. I took over from Alexandria, Minnesota to Madison, Wisconsin.

In Wisconsin we made a detour and stopped in at the Cady Cheese Factory. We bought a huge chunk of cheese, ate 1/8 of it, then left it in the car.

The postcards situation is not looking as bright as I had earlier hoped. So far the postcards are only from the Wisconsin cheese factory. I anticipate purchasing a few more before leaving Chicago. Especially since I wanted postcards to be from the most favored cities we passed through.

Chicago is way cooler than I expected. We are staying right next to Loyola University in Chicago's version of Seattle's International District. Except, for this district is actually diverse and is comprised of Koreans, Jews, Arabs, Hispanics, and Chinese shops and homes. We've been hovering near the campus and downtown the past day.

Transit here is pretty efficient and for a city, it's quite substantial. Nothing like Seattle. It's weird to be in a new place. Tomorrow we leave for Philadelphia for two nights...then to DC/Virginia.

You say that you drove from Alexandria to Madison, but I beg to differ. You drove from the rest stop to the cafe, and then I took us through to the cheese factory. I think anyway.

edit, *not the the cheese factory... to St. Paul, then you drove the petit distanced from there to Madison, and I had to take over...again.
